Upon opening the package I was impressed by the MM; it was slim, but nonetheless a heavy brick. It felt as though it could survive living in my workshop.

I immediately went to try it out. The backstand is too narrow, resulting in an unstable stand on my bench. The rotating switch gives a little too much resistance - normally I'd say it's good, but with the backstand it means trying to switch requires my attention, as otherwise I'll tip it over.

Autoranging was alright. It has an overshoot, but not a horrible one; it does autorange painfully slowly. I normally ignore it when my MM is off by a few percent - variation in the resistors, it's not a $300 fluke, etc. - but this one was *consistently* about 3% - 5% high.

All of this is relatively acceptable; we're talking about a swiss-knife hobbyist MM here. I quickly found, however, that the diode testing wasn't working. I went through a couple of different LEDs of various voltage drops, and it didn't work on a single one. At that point I had to return it.

Look at typical "Made in China" products, I'd call this "Very Made in China", complete with poor but entertaining translation (the manual).

But I can't find anything wrong or even mediocre I dare say about this item. It's not just good for the money, or good for Made in China, it's good, period. I've used Fluke testers which feel better built but not by much.

I'd agree that the backlight should stay on longer, but eh. It'd also be nice for battery replacement to not involve unscrewing something.

After purchasing and trying several digital multimeters, I settled on this model which fills a number of needs. The overall quality is very good to excellent in my opinion. I recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a well constructed multimeter for general use.

This RSR Multimeter has a complete set of functions and more. The meter comes with everything needed to troubleshoot just about any piece of electronics. This is a great meter for the price. Especially compared to the equivalent Fluke meter. The autoscaling is a bit slow, and I'm not positive how accurate the luminescent, temperature, Sound, and humidity settings are, but they seem to be accurate enough for most applications I've run across. Most DMM's do not have many of these functions. The meter itself is not as rugged as other meters I have used, but it is very light. The meter is very easy to use, and a great addition to any technicians or engineers tools.

All the stuff work on this. Good for the price. But swiftly switching between diffferent types of the reading
seems to make things go wrong. GO slow with the switch and switch of and restart if it stops. I would have been happier with
transistor testing too on this.
