very easy to install as others have said. i did break one tho after just a few months. it was frozen in the up position and i wanted it down so i just hit it harder. mistake. these are only plastic on the top so i guess ill have to be more gentle next time. but i did buy more. they are really strong when used properly.
Customer rating is 5 of 5  Best tie down I have ever seen   2009-09-22
By TimMd (San Jose, CA)
I used a set of these tie downs on my old truck. The two main features I really like is the virtually flat mounting when not in use and the fact that the U shaped ring is closed. There is no way that a tie down rope or hook can slip off like a lot of the "T" or "Y" shaped tie downs. When I sold my old truck I took off the tie downs as they were still in good shape.

Always out of the way so I'm not hitting protruding hooks. Looks better when not in use. Handy when I need it.
Customer rating is 1 of 5  Broke during installation   2009-02-10
By Charles Williams (La Quinta, CA USA)
The plastic top plate broke completely off and the lower clamp assembly fell down into the stake pocket on my 2006 GMS Sierra when I was tightening the screws. I used a screwdriver with what I thought was normal force, not a power drill.

They looked like they would have worked ok if they'd not broken during installation, though. I ended up ordering a version of these that has metal-to-metal contact at the installation point instead of plastic-to-metal.

By Shane Foster (Baltimore, MD United States)
These are fantastic. Super easy install. Nothing annoyed me more than having to reach down through the trash or debris or whatever I was hauling just to anchor my cargo nets. It's so simple and effective I'm just surprised these are not a standard feature on all new trucks. Points of note however: 1. I'm not sure why but from the description/photo I was expecting the anchor to "pop" up when pressed or something of that nature. This is not the case. The anchor drops down purely by gravity and if nothing is holding it up (bungee cord, fingers, whatever) it will just drop back down into its hole. Not a big deal. 2. Anyone with a screwdriver could walk up and steal these. You wouldn't really notice this though unless you were really looking so I'm not too worried about it - but it IS a possibility. 3. In my '07 Silverado there is a little play forward and backward in the bedwall holes that these drop into. I can center it over the hole but if I ratchet-strap something down, sometimes I'll have to re-center the anchor afterwards as it can slide forward or back an inch or so.
